Job summary

XPO is hiring a Freight Operations Supervisor in the United States to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, ensuring timely, damage-free processing of customer freight. The role requires strong leadership, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to optimize workloads and schedules across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehousing, distribution, or transportation
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT rules
• Ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and act as primary contact for workplace questions
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws
• Provide training and coaching on safety rules and processes
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals
• Participate in hiring decisions and action plans for load averages and compliance
