Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in West Sacramento, CA is seeking a supervisor to lead dock and service center staff, ensuring on-time, damage-free freight handling and safe operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will plan daily manpower, set schedules, assign tasks, monitor performance data, address safety issues, and collaborate with partners to meet service standards while pursuing cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT rules, NMFC, Tariff Rules, and related policies preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct work with focus on quality, safety and customer deliverables.
• Monitor unsafe acts/conditions and apply corrective action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower and set schedules to ensure on-time, damage-free freight handling.
• Communicate job assignments clearly with all employees.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiency while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and appointments.
• Monitor performance data and generate reports.
