Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead warehouse and operations teams, ensuring on-time, damage-free movement of shipments. You will guide daily operations, enforce safety standards, and collaborate with customers and partners to meet service expectations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, plus the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role is on-site at FedEx Freight facilities.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures, preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety performance.
• Actively monitor, record and educate employees regarding unsafe acts/conditions; provide corrective action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries and pickups.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees; ensure direction is clear.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight moved at incorrect weight/classification.
• Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Perform administrative functions as required.
• Comply with laws and company policies; perform other duties as required.
