Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a proactive supervisor to lead a team responsible for on-time, damage-free freight delivery and pickup. You will oversee daily staffing, provide coaching, and ensure adherence to safety standards while maintaining high levels of customer service across shifts.

The role requires knowledge of LTL operations, DOT/OSHA regulations, and the ability to coordinate with service centers. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, and company policies.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees with focus on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety.
• Monitor, record and educate employees on unsafe acts/conditions and correct with action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on-time, damage-free freight.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees clearly.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
