Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc in Salt Lake City is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to lead the team in moving freight on time and damage-free while following policies. You will guide personnel, coordinate dispatch, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will plan manpower, work with dock staff, monitor loading, optimize routes, and support customers with quotes and appointments. A strong focus on safety and cost efficiencies is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, NMFC and Tariff Rules knowledge.
• Able to work in a remote location with self-initiative.
• Multitasked and well organized.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Plan daily manpower to ensure on-time, damage-free freight moves.
• Coordinate with dispatch and dock staff for trailer movement.
• Monitor dock loading techniques and safety.
• Evaluate routes and bids based on local trends.
• Conduct safety meetings and quality groups.
• Identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities.
• Assist customers with rate quotes and appointments.
• Perform administrative duties and billing tasks.
• Ensure clean, safe facilities and secure operations.
• Communicate with Account Managers to meet needs.
• Identify mis-weighted or mis-classified freight.
• Monitor performance data for reporting.
• Support supervisors and enforce policy.
