Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead a team and ensure shipments move on time and damage-free. The role focuses on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction across daily operations.

Responsibilities include planning manpower, coordinating with staff, handling rate quotes, claims, and reporting data to improve efficiency. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules and regulations, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and tariff rules.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multitasking and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety.
• Actively monitor, record and educate employees regarding unsafe acts/conditions and correct immediately.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Communicate job assignments across staff clearly.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while upholding safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight moving at incorrect weight/classification.
• Ensure OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Perform administrative functions and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
