Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a leadership-oriented supervisor to guide daily operations, ensuring on-time and damage-free shipments. You will coordinate dispatch, dock activities, and route adjustments while maintaining safety and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes staff development, customer interaction, and administrative oversight. The position requires high school completion, prior management experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum management experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules and OSHA regulations, NMFC and tariff rules is preferred.
• Ability to work in a remote location with initiative.
• Multi-tasking ability and good organizational skills are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop company employees.
• Plan daily manpower needs to ensure timely, damage-free deliveries and pickups.
• Coordinate movement of trailers and freight with dispatch and dock staff.
• Monitor dock loading techniques for safety and efficiency.
• Evaluate route structures and bids based on local trends.
• Conduct safety meetings and support quality initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and appointments.
• Perform administrative tasks (receipts, manifests, billing, tracing).
• Maintain clean, safe facility and secure operations at customer centers.
• Communicate with Account Managers to align customer and company needs.
• Identify misweights and incorrect classifications of freight.
• Ensure OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Monitor performance data for reporting.
• Assist Operations Supervisors and enforce company policies.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
