Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a capable supervisor to lead a team responsible for on-time, damage-free shipment movement.

You will train staff, set schedules, monitor performance, and maintain safety standards while delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include coordinating with service center personnel, managing rate quotes and appointments, and ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety.
• Actively monitor and correct unsafe acts/conditions with coaching and action.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure timely freight delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments and coordinate with employees.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Address opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight moving at incorrect weight/classification.
• Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Perform administrative functions and comply with laws and company policies.
