People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists is seeking an Export Coordinator (Air & Ocean) in Atlanta, GA to manage end-to-end export shipments. You will coordinate bookings, prepare documentation, ensure AES/EEI filings, and maintain strong carrier and customer communications to meet deadline-driven service levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and ocean export shipments from booking to delivery.

Export Coordinator (Air & Ocean) | Atlanta, GA | Salary: Up to $65,000

This role will be responsible for coordinating air and ocean export shipments from A-Z, ensuring freight moves efficiently and all documentation, bookings, and customer requirements are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an international freight forwarding environment, with a solid understanding of both air and ocean export operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and ocean export shipments from A-Z, from initial booking through final delivery.
• Arrange bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, co-loaders, and other service providers.
• Prepare and process export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, commercial invoices, and related paperwork.
• Complete and/or coordinate AES/EEI filings and ensure export compliance requirements are met.
• Obtain and negotiate freight rates where required and prepare customer quotations.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, truckers, warehouses, overseas agents, and internal teams.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate status updates, delays, and exceptions.
• Ensure shipments meet customer requirements and agreed service levels.
• Review documentation for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery arrangements with trucking providers.
• Handle shipment billing, invoicing, and other operational administration.
• Maintain accurate shipment records within the company's TMS/forwarding system.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas partners.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide timely solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding.
• Previous air and ocean export experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of the A-Z export process.
• Experience with export documentation and AES/EEI filings.
• Good understanding of international shipping procedures and Incoterms.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with a freight forwarding/TMS system is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
