Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area and assist in loading and unloading trailers. The role requires operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, while ensuring accurate documentation and safe handling practices.

You will verify freight details, secure loads, and support customers with shipments. The starting pay is $21.16 per hour with varied shift times, and adherence to all safety and regulatory guidelines is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and open trailer doors with lift force requirements.

Responsibilities

• Move freight across dock areas using motorized or manual equipment.
• Verify documentation matches freight description in system.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight docs as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
