Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour with a shift from 2100 to 0530 in a full-time role.

The role involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, verifying freight documentation, securing loads, assisting customers, and performing hostling duties as required while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy freight; handle dock plates up to ~100 lbs.
• Basic math and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight paperwork as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
