Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across dock areas, load to trailers, and assist with freight documentation. The role involves operating forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, with pay starting at $22.77/hour and exposure to a fast-paced environment.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and basic math/communication skills. Prior warehousing or forklift experience is preferred; on-site position with variable hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight various weights several times a week and lift heavy dock plates.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate freight handling equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
