Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate in the United States. The role involves freight handling with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; you will verify documentation, secure freight in trailers, and assist customers with freight paperwork.

Starting pay is $22.77 per hour, with a stated range of $22.77–$26.64 per hour. Typical shift times are 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and duties include compliance with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates up to 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift, several times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight against documentation (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
