Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate to move freight between dock areas and trailers. You will operate equipment, verify documents, secure loads, and assist customers during loading and unloading.

Shift: 1600–2200. Starting pay: $21.16 per hour. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to lift heavy objects; prior warehouse experience preferred. This is an on-site, fast-paced environment requiring teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry freight and operate related equipment.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight during shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documents for type, weight and hazardous materials.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
