Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers, with a starting pay of $21.16 per hour. The shift is 0500-1100 and involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move freight safely.

You will verify documentation, secure freight inside trailers, recoup/repair damaged freight, complete required reports, assist customers with freight, and perform hostling duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and pallet jack to move freight.
• Verify freight docs match description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
