Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and load shipments to trailers. The role involves operating forklifts, verifying freight documents, and securing cargo inside trailers. You will assist customers with freight paperwork and perform hostling duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Dock/yard hostler experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy freight and open trailer doors.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and manual equipment to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight paperwork as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
