Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a logistics professional to manage ocean import/export operations, ensuring smooth carrier coordination and timely delivery to final destinations.

You will prepare customs documentation, track shipments, and maintain strong customer relationships while adhering to regulations and internal processes.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in ocean import and export is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and movement of goods through various transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit required customs-clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide regular customer updates.
• Manage customer relationships and address concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance, and operations departments.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and other relevant requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
