Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries in Ecru, MS is seeking a Freight Records Specialist to manage and audit transportation documentation. You will verify bills of lading, freight rates, and shipment data, ensuring accuracy and compliance while coordinating with warehouse, accounting, and logistics teams.

The role requires 1–3 years in shipping/logistics and strong Excel skills, with a 7:00AM-4:00PM shift, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
1–3 years in shipping, receiving, logistics, or records management.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and logistics tracking/ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Document Management: process, review, and file shipping documents (bills of lading, delivery receipts, and customs declarations)
Data Entry & Audit: input shipment data into ERP systems
Dispute Resolution: audit carrier invoices and shipping bills; identify overcharges, missing freight, or damages and file claims
Compliance & Safety: ensure freight documentation meets federal, state, and internal regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, and customs)
Cross-Functional Support: communicate with truck drivers, 3PL providers, and customers to track deliveries and address transit issues
