Job summary

Fed Ex Freight is seeking a dock worker to move freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. This role requires operating forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, verifying freight documents, and securing loads safely.

You will assist customers with freight paperwork, perform hostling duties if required, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies in a fast-paced dock environment with varying hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work on a dock environment.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets and restraints.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
