Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight between trailers and dock areas. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight documents, and secure loads for safe transport. The role requires basic math, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures.

Eligible employees receive standard benefits and are expected to work varied shifts. The position involves physical tasks, weather exposure, and lifting up to 75 pounds as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and overhead items repeatedly.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate and use motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
