Job summary

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
• Communicate with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup/drop-off times, and special requests.
• Plan predetermined routes for drivers.
• Identify traffic problems and create corrective action plans to meet on-time goals.
• Prepare dispatch documents for management and pull necessary documents.
• Maintain records of dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, and delivery/pick-up times.
• Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules; log vendor concerns.
• Answer phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.
