Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Freight Brokerage Carrier Sales Representative to source transportation providers and support customer requests with tracking updates.

You will develop a carrier coverage strategy and work autonomously to support truckload and LTL coverage needs. In this role you will engage with Account Executives and other managers to build a robust carrier network, enable timely load dispatch, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations while delivering World Class

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Three (3) years or more business experience required.
• Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality advanced required.
• Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures advanced required.
• Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word; SMS legacy system understanding intermediate required.

Responsibilities

• Tender loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, track and trace loads and communicate status to carrier/customers.
• Develop relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage for customer freight portfolios.
• Plan and schedule load coverage to meet customer needs within the agreed timeframes.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations; update load statuses in the TMS.
