Job summary

Combined Transport, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher responsible for building relationships with outside trucking companies to move freight, maintain carrier information, and maximize efficiency across loads.

You will manage contracts, communicate daily with carriers, monitor safety and insurance, and coordinate timely pickups and deliveries while posting available loads to DAT and other sites. This role requires meticulous data entry and proactive problem solving to keep shipments on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Establish regular and consistent communication with outside trucking companies to encourage them to take our loads.
• Ensure the carrier is legally and safely able to haul our freight by checking Safe-Stat information and minimum safety requirements.
• Enter insurance expiration date and truck/driver information in the Nam screen in your computer.
• Create and maintain a file for each carrier with insurance certificates, authority certificates, W-9, and truck/driver information; name Combined Transport, Inc. or Blackwell Consolidation as Additional Insured.
• Maintain an A list for peak months and know traffic lanes, destinations, and loads.
• Maintain a B list for seasonal carriers.
• Review inbound broker list to identify outside trucks entering our area.
• Review outbound broker list to stay in contact with loaded trucks until delivery.
• Log all available trucks on the truck list daily.
• Coordinate the nearest truck to pick up freight to maximize commission percentage.
• Produce and send a rate, pickup and delivery agreement to the carrier for signature and return before dispatch.
• Maintain daily communication with all carriers; notify Sales if a truck falls behind schedule.
• Post loads lacking a truck on approved internet sites and via email; use TK Function processor LOAD screen to post to DAT, email, and website.
