Job summary

Meiborg Companies is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and grow our freight brokerage division in Rockford, IL. This builder’s role focuses on creating a scalable, profitable operation beyond current levels and guiding a high-performing brokerage team.

You will drive revenue growth, optimize margins, oversee operations, and implement risk controls while shaping the organization for long-term success in the transportation sector.

Qualifications

• Significant freight brokerage / 3PL leadership experience.
• Proven record of growing brokerage revenue and profitability.
• Experience scaling operations, sales, and carrier teams.
• Strong financial acumen with P&L understanding.
• Proficiency with TMS systems (McLeod strongly preferred).
• Expertise in carrier qualification, fraud prevention, and risk management.
• Ability to recruit, coach, and hold teams accountable.

Responsibilities

• Drive brokerage revenue, expand accounts, improve margins, and own KPIs including revenue, gross profit, and customer retention.
• Lead, coach, and recruit brokerage talent; establish accountability and build future leaders.
• Oversee customer orders, carrier procurement, execution, billing, and process improvement using McLeod and operational data.
• Build scalable carrier networks, manage compliance, reduce fraud, and negotiate strategically.
• Strengthen customer relationships, support sales strategy, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
