Job summary

NFI Industries in Camden, NJ is seeking a Freight Bill Clerk to support a Transportation Management client. You will process freight invoices, ensure billing accuracy, and help manage cash flow by coordinating with carriers and clients.

The role requires an Associate degree, 4+ years in billing or accounting, and strong MS Office skills. You will audit bills, resolve discrepancies, and contribute to month-end reporting while maintaining professional communication with partners.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• 4+ years' experience in billing / accounting environment.
• 1-2 years of transportation/clerical experience - LTL Bill of Ladings, freight invoices, and accessorial fee experience.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel with VLOOKUP and Pivot tables).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work in a team and independently.
• Must have billing system experience.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Freight Bill Clerk supports a dedicated Transportation Management client with the accurate and timely processing of freight invoices and shipping documentation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring billing accuracy, cost control, and maintaining positive carrier and client relationships. This position reports to the Senior Account Manager.

Responsibilities

• Audit, process, and reconcile freight bills, invoices, and related documents
• Verify carrier charges against contracts, rate agreements, and shipping documentation
• Resolve discrepancies with carriers, clients, or internal departments as needed
• Maintain accurate billing records in internal systems and ensure timely data entry

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $19.19/hour - $25.59/hour. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%.
