Job summary

The New School’s College of Performing Arts is seeking an Overhire Production A1 to support live audio for academic performances and partner events. You will mix FOH, monitors, and streaming feeds, and may oversee the livestream mix when needed, reporting to the Audio & Video Supervisor.

This in-person, on-campus role involves setting up and operating audio consoles and related gear, guiding the audio crew, and ensuring the university's standards of quality, safety, and professionalism are met.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of live sound engineering experience.
• Experience with digital consoles: Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Midas, Behringer.
• Ability to read event technical riders and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Mix FOH, monitors, or streaming audio for events.
• Set up, operate, and strike equipment before, during, and after events.
• Direct audio crew and ensure delivery of the university’s standard.
• Coordinate with other departments and event coordinators for smooth shows.
