Job summary

The New School in New York City invites applications for an Overhire Production A/V Stagehand in the College of Performing Arts. This role supports academic performances and partner events, handling stage moves, mic setup, and equipment installation under supervision.

We seek candidates with at least 1 year of stage tech experience, strong knowledge of gain structure and signal flow, and familiarity with audio software such as Pro Tools and Wireless Workbench.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a stage technician, for concerts, corporate events, or theater.
• Excellent knowledge of proper gain structure and signal flow.
• Working knowledge of audio related software, such as Wireless Workbench 6, Pro Tools, Logic, Dante Virtual Soundcard, Dante Controller, etc.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and execute audio/video needs including signal flow plans and stage plots.
• Safely run signal and power cables and implement ground plans.
• Set up, patch, and test microphones and speakers with A1/A2.
• Assist with stage moves and equipment maintenance.
• Set up, operate, and strike equipment before, during, and after events.
• Provide professional, courteous service to all parties.
• Coordinate with other departments and event coordinators to ensure success.
