Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group in New York City is seeking an A1 Audio Engineer for live events, with hourly part-time to full-time shifts across our NYC venues. You will lead audio production for meetings, conferences, and brand activations, ensuring flawless sound and a premium guest experience.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, proficiency with mixers, mics, speakers, Dante networking, and DAWs. You’ll collaborate with event teams, troubleshoot on the fly, and maintain equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an A1 Audio Engineer or similar role in events.
Proficient with audio equipment including mixers, mics, speakers, Dante networking; DAWs helpful.
Strong ear for sound quality, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and teamwork to coordinate with event staff.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate audio for live events, including mics, speakers, and playback devices.
Maintain high sound quality by adjusting levels, EQ, and routing.
Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize disruption during events.
Collaborate with event coordinators and production teams to meet audio requirements.
Inspect and maintain audio gear and perform routine checks.
Provide technical guidance to team members and clients on audio setups.
Document setups and inventory of equipment.
Adhere to safety protocols for a safe work environment.
