Job summary

The New School’s Production Department in New York City seeks an Overhire Video Operator to support livestreams and video recordings for performances and partner events. This part-time, on-site role focuses on delivering high-quality streaming experiences and reliable AV support across the College of Performing Arts.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a livestream engineer or 2 years as a camera operator.
• Expertise with Sony and Blackmagic cameras and PTZ cameras.
• Strong live-switching skills and working knowledge of Vmix and ATEM switchers.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute technical aspects of each design, including signal flow plans.
• Determine camera placements for engaging multicam shots.
• Direct, design, and switch livestream presentations using Vmix and ATEM switchers.
• Set exposure and white balance for consistent color across cameras.
• Manage recorded media for pre-recorded events.
• Set up, operate, and strike equipment before, during, and after events.
• Direct technicians as needed to complete tasks.
