Job summary

Brex is seeking a Fraud Strategy Associate in Seattle for a hybrid role. You will own the end-to-end integrity of Brex’s fraud and risk ecosystem across credit, deposit, and card rails, designing detection logic and reporting for senior stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with Risk, Data Science, Engineering, and Product to embed fraud prevention into the product lifecycle, while measuring KPI performance and driving scalable processes across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fraud strategy, risk operations, or data-driven business operations within a financial services or fintech environment.
• Proficient with SQL and/or Python for data wrangling, statistical modeling, and automation.
• Ability to build scalable processes and manage complex projects from data exploration through to operational rollout.
• Excellent communication to synthesize findings into executive-level strategic narratives.

Responsibilities

• Data Mining: Use SQL and Python to mine large-scale data and detect fraudulent patterns across rails.
• Vendor and Rule Optimization: Design detection logic and refine automations to reduce risk with minimal friction.
• Emerging Threat Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory shifts to deploy new defenses.
• Workflow Architecture: Optimize fraud investigation processes with high-fidelity documentation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge Risk, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams.
