JPMorgan Chase in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead high‑throughput, low‑latency systems within the Trust & Safety, Payments Technology organization. You will guide an agile team to design, build, and deliver scalable, secure software.

The role requires deep Java and Python expertise, Spring, microservices, and cloud concepts. You will mentor peers, influence product design, and champion best practices across the SDLC in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience building low latency, high throughput server-side Python-based software; advanced in Java.
• Experience with Java, Spring Core/Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate, Kubernetes, Docker, Swagger, Skaffold.
• Security standards such as OAuth, TLS, JWT, Kerberos, etc.
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design, microservices patterns, architectures.
• Agile software development experience is a must.
• Proficiency with Python programming language.

Responsibilities

• Writes high-throughput, low-latency Java server-side code.
• Provides technical guidance to teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure, production-grade code and reviews others' code.
• Influences product design, application functionality, and operations.
• Advocates firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC best practices.
