Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Data Protection & Recovery to drive architecture for critical Java services, emphasizing resiliency, security, and scalable design.

You will mentor teams, shape CI/CD practices, and introduce AI-assisted development tools across enterprise platforms. The role requires deep expertise in Java, Python, microservices, Kafka, and cloud delivery (AWS), with a focus on data protection, recovery, and incident response.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with expert Java proficiency including collections and concurrency.
• Strong Spring Boot and microservices experience; API-driven design and event schemas.
• Expert-level Python for microservices.
• Deep resiliency and disaster recovery knowledge; DR tests and chaos engineering.
• Secure SDLC expertise: threat modeling, secrets handling, encryption, authentication/authorization.
• Kafka and messaging experience; end-to-end design considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across teams; SME in resiliency and recovery observability.
• Own end-to-end architecture for critical Java services; define contracts and schemas.
• Design, develop, and review secure production code in Java; mentor engineers.
• Improve automation and CI/CD quality; implement safe, AI-assisted development practices.
• Build AI-enabled capabilities for enterprise SAP processes; manage SRE and observability.
