The Office of Family Assistance (OFA) provides policy, operational, technical assistance and training support for safety net programs that assist low‑income Ohioans. This includes: Cash assistance programs funded by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Block Grant, including Ohio Works First (OWF) and the Prevention Retention and Contingency (PRC) programs; Food assistance programs including, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Program, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP); Program Integrity; and Adult Protective Services. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding program integrity by independently investigating allegations of fraud, misuse, and other violations within Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and related public assistance programs. The successful candidate will conduct thorough complaint screenings, gather and evaluate evidence, collaborate with legal and law‑enforcement partners, and prepare detailed investigative reports to support administrative or criminal action. This role also contributes to the development of investigative procedures, supports statewide fraud‑prevention initiatives, and partners across agencies to address emerging issues such as skimming and scamming activities.
Part-time.
Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
This is an intermittent, temporary position. The final candidate selected for this position will not be permitted to exceed 1,000 hours worked per fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th). This position is Unclassified per ORC 124.11(A) (29).

This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA/AFSCME Pay Schedule, Pay Range 31. Unless required by legislation or union contract, salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $28.76 per hour).
