RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer II to develop FPGA designs for Xilinx, Altera and Microsemi devices, using VHDL. You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems teams to translate requirements into reliable FPGA implementations.

The role emphasizes design, verification, and documentation from concept through test, with potential for small team mentoring. A DoD security clearance and US citizenship are required, and relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

• This role typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog coding.
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and CONOPS
• Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements and code in VHDL
• Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests and track coverage
• Support projects to meet schedules and budgets
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides
• May lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
