Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal FPGA Engineer to lead FPGA design across AMD/Xilinx, Altera and Microchip devices. You will drive architecture, coding in HDL, verification from requirements to production, and documentation.

This onsite role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Collaborate with systems, hardware and software teams to deliver production FPGA releases and multi-year programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant FPGA experience across multiple vendors/devices.
• Experience with HDL coding and digital design for configurable logic devices.
• Experience with FPGA timing constraints and timing closure.
• Experience with IP Cores and system-level integration.
• Proven leadership or team-leading experience in large programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production-quality FPGA releases from proof of concept to production.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and program management to ensure product success.
• Lead FPGA-based system architectures and determine parts and interfaces.
• Code in HDL for reliability and maintainability; verify with directed and constrained random tests.
• Document requirements, verification plans, and configuration management.
• Lead reviews and drive projects to schedules and budgets.
