Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• Familiarity with accounting/finance fundamentals and intermediate math.
• Ability to exercise judgement, attention to detail, and analytical.
• Self-starter with ability to balance priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and databases; pivot tables.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain concepts to leadership.
• Enrolled in undergrad with at least one semester remaining after internship.
• Junior standing or higher at time of application.
• High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18+; authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Focus on financial analyses and reports to support small business groups within Alaska Airlines.
• Forecasting, cost control, budget prep, variance research and ad hoc projects.
• Develop metrics reporting, KPI modeling, and product line profitability analysis.
• Under manager guidance, drive projects, provide insights and influence decisions.
• Maintain models to support labor, costs, revenue forecasts and activity.
• Analyze financial performance data and propose actions to improve profitability and cash generation.
• Contribute to monthly closing processes including accruals and data entry.
