Job summary

KLA Industries, a manufacturing leader near the Atlanta area, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and optimize production processes in a plant setting. The role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and focuses on improving efficiency, tooling design, and automation across lines.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, hands-on tooling experience, and strong automation knowledge including robotics and PLCs, with exposure to heavy manufacturing or foundry environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management experience required to run projects in their entirety.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Foundry experience desired; zinc/high pressure aluminum die casting or stamping/plating/finishing experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software such as SolidWorks.
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis using statistical methods and Lean tools; recommend changes.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Perform FMEA on designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to maximize productivity.
• Lead design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and ROIA initiatives.
• Lead design review meetings for new and existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, inventories of spare parts and critical parts.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, end-of-arm tooling, fixturing, and gauging.
