Job summary

PracticeSuite, Inc. is seeking a founding leader to establish and scale the SRE function, owning incident command, on-call coverage, and SLOs while setting the direction for infrastructure across current and new solutions.

You will drive cloud infrastructure with AWS, cost and resilience trade-offs, and build out CI/CD, observability, and IAM foundations in a fast-paced healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading platform and/or infrastructure teams.
• Experience designing and implementing production systems; hands-on leadership at director/manager level.
• Experience with horizontal multi-server architectures for redundancy, scale, reliability and performance.
• Production experience in Linux, Oracle and Java tech stack.
• Hands-on AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Solid hypervisor concepts (KVM, VMware, Proxmox).
• Experience implementing monitoring/observability and CI/CD.
• Access control/IAM, encryption, patching, vulnerability management; HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, or ISO 27001 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stand up SRE as a function: incident command, US-hours on-call coverage, post-incident reviews, and SLOs.
• Set infrastructure direction across current servers and new solutions including vendor recommendations.
• Drive Cloud Infrastructure: design AWS accounts, VPC, IAM, and data-store shape; manage cost, scaling, and resilience.
• Own CI/CD and operational foundations: environment management, observability, secrets management, access control, and backup/restore evidence.
• Define the operating split between Server Admin and SRE.
