Job summary

Axon is seeking a founding Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in schematic and circuit board design to own the electrical design, development, and validation of complex, highly integrated hardware for mission-critical connected devices.

As a founding member of our hardware team, you will have ownership across the full hardware lifecycle—from system architecture and component selection through schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, validation, certification, and mass production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical and circuit board design experience.
• Experience in taking electronics from architecture to mass production.
• Experience with high-density, mixed-signal PCBs and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with power architecture including battery/charging circuitry.
• Experience with design for EMI/EMC and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed mixed-signal schematic design across processors, memory, power management, and interfaces.
• Drive PCB designs from architecture through layout, including layer stack-up and routing.
• Ensure signal and power integrity across high-speed interfaces and mixed-signal systems.
• Lead component selection, power-tree design, and battery/ charging architecture.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and RF teams to optimize board form factor and thermal performance.
• Lead bring-up, validation, and root-cause analysis with test equipment.
• Own BOMs, design reviews, and readiness through EVT/DVT/PVT and production.
• Provide technical leadership and design review support to engineers and partners.
