Job summary

Meritus College seeks a Registrar & Director of Academic Records to lead the design and integrity of all registrar functions, from Student Information System to degree conferral and FERPA administration. Responsibilities

• Build and Lead the Office of the Registrar: draft policy stack, enrollment rules, grading standards, academic progress rules, leave/withdrawal, transfer credit, degree conferral, records retention, transcript issuance.
• Establish the Academic Catalog as the official document of record: content architecture, approval workflow, version control, publication cycle, archive; ensure catalog aligns with enrollment agreement and SIS.
• Stand up registrar service infrastructure: create intake and case management, publish service levels, escalation paths, self-service docs to scale on process rather than heroics.
• Define the system of academic authority: decide who may change grades, waive requirements, release records, reverse withdrawals, certify completion with audit trails.
• Support SIS implementation: lead requirements, configuration, academic structure setup, lifecycle governance; partner with IT to defend build decisions.
• Own institutional data of record: define data dictionary, what constitutes enrollment, active status, progress unit, completion, good standing; ensure consistency across teams.
• Institute data integrity controls: build validation rules, reconciliation, exception reporting, census-date freezes, period-close discipline; certify accuracy of official data.
• Establish records custody, retention, and continuity: retention/destruction schedules, disaster recovery, permanent record custody and teach-out plans.
