The OpenAI Deployment Company (DeployCo) seeks a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to lead high-stakes customer deployments and drive end-to-end technical and business value outcomes. You will set the bar for engagement and deployments, partnering with OpenAI functions to inform roadmaps and ensure safe, scalable execution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering or technical delivery experience.
• Experience leading high-pressure technical projects from prototype to production.
• Ability to translate field experience into clear product feedback.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for customer engagements, owning problems end-to-end from definition to resolution
• Operate with agency to deliver outcomes through clarity, speed, and high technical quality
• Guide deployment strategy and help define DeployCo’s operating model for swift, safe execution
• Define and build deployment primitives that increase customer impact and engagement velocity
• Operate as a player-coach, setting a high bar for execution while growing the team through direct feedback
• Codify successful patterns into tools, playbooks, and roadmap inputs that create leverage for Deploy
• Co-identify early signals and elevate them with urgency in product behavior, customer environments, or delivery practices
