This is the first sales hire for a new customer experience product, so the person owns deals from first conversation through pilot to signed contract, and often plays both seller and technical expert. A strong candidate has years of enterprise software sales and pre-sales work, knows tools like Medallia or Qualtrics, and can set up data connections such as APIs and MCP. They also need to turn customer feedback into product input and build the sales process from scratch.
The product itself is AI, so the job involves explaining and demoing AI-moderated research to experienced CX teams and showing how it plugs into their existing systems. Knowledge of MCP, which links AI tools to other software, is part of the day to day. What stays human is building trust with buyers, judging what a pilot needs to prove, negotiating, and shaping a believable product vision with the product team.
Someone in this role would get close, hands-on exposure to how AI interview and summarising tools are sold, piloted and connected to company data. Since the product reads and writes to CX platforms, CRMs and data warehouses, the work builds practical skill in AI integrations. To prepare, try MCP on a small project, learn how AI-moderated research differs from surveys, and study how feedback tools like Medallia and Qualtrics are set up.

An AI-moderated research platform that, the company says, runs and summarises hundreds of customer interviews at once, by voice, video or text.
