Job summary

Atlantic Council seeks an Assistant Director to generate and manage foundation revenue, aiming to secure large grants and deepen institutional partnerships. This role works with the Deputy Director, Foundation Partnerships, to craft competitive proposals and budgets, monitor funder guidelines, and support donor stewardship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in development or foundation relations.
• Proven ability to translate complex research into clear written materials.
• Experience identifying and pursuing foundation funding opportunities and RFPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with donors and program staff.

Responsibilities

• Support development staff in drafting concept papers, full proposals, and budgets.
• Coordinate with Finance to assemble budgets and supporting documentation.
• Manage grant renewals and post-award coordination for consistency across proposals and reporting.
• Research RFPs and funding opportunities; synthesize trends for strategy.
• Develop donor communications, briefings, and impact updates for stewardship.
