Foundation Relations Associate — Grant Writing & Proposals

Job summary

Civic Nation is seeking an Associate on the Development Team to support the grant cycle for Foundations, including prospecting, drafting proposals, and reporting. This role partners with program staff and the Director of Foundation Relations to advance fundraising goals in a fast-paced environment.

Based in the Washington, DC area, you will work in our DC office one day per week and provide in-person support for projects and events as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a nonprofit environment.
• Fundraising experience, including demonstrated success in grant writing and securing foundation funds preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience developing external materials

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate the grants process for the Foundation Portfolio throughout all stages: prospecting, proposals, grant agreements, and reports.
• Coordinate with Finance for requested materials as needed.
• Lead maintenance of the donor database in HubSpot for the Foundation Portfolio, including contact history and funder materials.
• Provide proofreading and quality assurance for external materials and assist with donor mailings and events.
