Flatiron in Manhattan, NYC is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer. The role blends platform work with frontier AI lab needs, handling ad hoc data tasks, dashboards, and RL task crafting on tight timelines.

Expect a fast-moving generalist environment with customer-facing deliverables and high-impact features. We seek 2–5 years of full-stack experience, strong TS and Python, and a proven ability to translate customer needs into rapid technical solutions while collaborating closely with customers

Qualifications

2 to 5 years in full-stack software engineering, in fast-paced environments.
Production software shipped at a high-growth VC-backed company.
Strong TypeScript and Python, with experience across backend, data pipelines and frontend.
Proven track record turning customer needs into fast technical solutions.
Comfort working directly with customers and iterating quickly on requests.

Responsibilities

Shape data created by experts to meet frontier AI lab requirements.
Build quick plugins, features, or temporary improvements to data collection systems.
Handcraft RL task samples tailored to customer needs.
Spin up customer-facing dashboards and portals on tight timelines.
Identify when a one-off build should be generalized into the core platform.
