Job summary

BNY in New York City seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the Engineering Hub. You will embed with stakeholders to scope and deliver time-boxed engagements and translate opportunities into production-ready plans.

You will design and deploy AI-first solutions across data, APIs, and services, reuse patterns, ensure security by default, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10–14 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong understanding of modern AI and agentic patterns (RAG, semantic search).
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and production systems.
• Cross-functional work across architecture, data, and platform concerns.

Responsibilities

• Embed with stakeholders to scope and deliver time-boxed engagements.
• Design, build, and deploy AI-first solutions across data, APIs, and services.
• Reuse patterns and contribute to shared platform capabilities.
• Ensure security-by-default practices and observability in solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
