Inventure in Redwood City is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to deliver production-ready voice AI solutions for enterprise customers. You’ll embed with client teams, prototype demos and drive end-to-end delivery from prototype to production.
The role requires several years of hands-on production engineering, customer-facing experience, and strong proficiency in React, Node.js, Python and AWS. This onsite, high-intensity startup environment rewards ownership and rapid iteration.
We’ve partnered with a Y Combinator-backed voice AI company rebuilding the contact centre from first principles. Thousands of companies already use their AI voice agents to run the sales, support and logistics calls that used to need large teams of people, and the vision for 2026 is a full CX platform where AI “workers” act as frontline agents, QA analysts and managers, continuously executing and improving customer interactions. The traction is the headline: they’ve gone from around $5M ARR at the start of 2025 to roughly $80M today, profitably, on less than $5M ever raised, which is about as capital‑efficient as startups get. They’re a top‑50 AI app on a16z’s list, #4 on Brex’s fastest‑growing software vendors, and on the Enterprise Tech 30.
A word on pace before you read on: this is an intense, in-person, startup environment. Expect long hours in the Redwood City office and a genuinely all-in commitment, the kind of team that’s building fast with everyone deeply hands‑on. It’s a deliberate culture and the right fit for people who want exactly that rather than a predictable nine-to‑five. If that’s you, read on.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll deliver the platform into enterprise customers, embedding with their teams to build production‑ready systems and shaping the product through what you learn in the field.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will:
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of projects on the voice agent platform, from prototype to production, communicating progress and risks clearly.
Become a go‑to expert on building voice AI solutions, including the LLM prompting tips and tricks that make them work.
Partner with sales to engage clients, gather requirements, prototype demos and present system designs.
Scope projects, resolve blockers, codify reusable patterns into tools, and turn field feedback into product and GTM recommendations.
You have several years of recent, hands‑on production engineering experience, ideally spanning multiple startups (ex-founder or founding engineer is a strong plus) or a fast‑rising stint in big tech.
You have real customer-facing experience, whether as a solutions engineer, forward deployed engineer, technical PM or founder, and you communicate exceptionally well with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You’re strong across their stack: React, Node.js, Python and AWS, with deep distributed‑systems knowledge and production‑grade code behind you.
You’re a hands‑on operator with founder‑level ownership who thrives in a fast‑paced, zero‑to‑one environment and speaks up to suggest improvements rather than waiting to be asked.
You have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Nice to have: voice AI experience, or senior to staff‑level depth.
You’re based in or willing to relocate to Redwood City, happy to work on site, and energised by a long‑hours, high‑intensity startup pace. The company is open to visa transfers and TN visas, but cannot sponsor net‑new H-1Bs.
The role pays a $215K–$290K base, set by level and interview performance, plus extremely competitive equity, and there are several seats to fill with the team moving fast. One note on process: the technical screen is live coding with no AI assistance, so only apply if you’re happy to code that way.
