Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, design and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform, owning the architecture and end‑to‑end delivery across data engineering, ML/AI and application development.

In this hands‑on, customer‑facing role you will embed with client teams, translate complex concepts into actionable implementations, and deliver production‑grade architectures with scale and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: Lead production‑grade systems, reference architectures, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Transformational Impact: Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Empower Customers: Advise on architecture and design to enable customer success and adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: Lead decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks engineering, project management, architects, and customer teams to meet engagement goals.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to accelerate issue resolution and improve offerings.
• Customer Immersion: Embed with client teams across roles to deeply understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Create reusable accelerators and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
