Job summary

Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Austin, TX to join Data 360. You will configure, build, test, and deploy Data 360 inside enterprise environments, turning approved designs into working implementations across ingestion, harmonization, identity, insights, activation, retrieval, security, and operational readiness.

You'll work with a delivery team to ground agents in real-time data, build data pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable integrations that support Agentforce initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software or data engineering including a production data solution you can explain in detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud) or a comparable enterprise data platform across ingestion, modeling, identity, insight, activation, and operations.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and integrations using at least one enterprise data platform or technology (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, cloud object storage, or an enterprise MDM platform).
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to build, debug, and optimize multi-table queries, joins, filters, transformations, and validation checks.
• Fluency in at least one enterprise delivery language: Apex, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript; willingness to learn others.

Responsibilities

• Build in customer environments, configuring and developing in sandboxes and production using Data 360 configurations and related tools.
• Engineer the data layer across ingestion, harmonization, and identity resolution, optimizing latency and cost for workloads.
• Create representative test data and validate outcomes across happy paths, edge cases, access boundaries, and scale.
• Ground the agents by designing and maintaining the AI data integration layer (RAG, vector databases, search indexes, knowledge bases).
• Design and implement protocols (MCP) and agent-to-agent communication for secure, efficient collaboration among AI agents.
• Connect the ecosystem with robust data integration patterns across enterprise apps and ensure governance of data.
