Job summary

Black Ore is building an AI-powered tax platform and seeks a Forward Deployed Accountant (FDA), a CPA embedded inside customer tax workflows. You’ll be the dedicated partner from signature through renewal, handling onboarding, training, questions, issues, and improving how firms run their tax prep.

You’ll train staff, embed the product in their workflow, monitor usage, and re‑engage accounts before renewal risk.

Qualifications

• CPA or EA credential required.
• 3+ years of experience preparing tax returns.
• 2+ years of 1040 experience in a CPA or tax services setting.
• Experience with listed tax software.
• Detail oriented with strong tax review skills.
• Comfortable in front of customers across the lifecycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organization and project management.
• Tech-savvy and quick to learn new AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of book of accounts from kickoff through renewal.
• Drive adoption and change management in clients' tax workflows.
• Monitor usage and re-engage at-risk accounts before renewal.
• Support the sales team in demos and pre-sale questions.
• Flag expansion signals to the Account Executive.
• Capture edge cases and feedback for product improvements.
• Configure environments, roles and readiness checks.
